The Dew family enters the blogging world with a celebration of Em's Baptism on Father's Day. We had intended to have her baptized much earlier but time just got away from us. Instead, we planned it for the week after moving into the new house. Not our brightest plan, but it certainly got us motivated to get the house in some semblance of controlled chaos because friends and family were coming (More about the "new house" in future posts).
The sermon was "Compelled by Love" and how true that rings. As parents to two little ones, what we are willing to do for our children because we are compelled by love is endless. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son . . .." John 3:16 (ESV). Talk about compelled by love.
On a lighter note: No matter how compelled by love we might be, it doesn't prevent Em from already suffering the "second child" syndrome. It is alive and well in the Dew clan. At the end of the service, we almost walked out of the church without a single picture. When we attempted the pictures, El was not particularly cooperative so this was the result:
Ah . . . the memories.
After her Baptism, family and friends joined us to celebrate at the house with bagels, coffee and camaraderie. Em enjoyed all the attention, the weather was gorgeous and I think we wore her out:
Until next Dew time.
